The devotees may forget the Lord but the Lord never forgets them. Similarly Sai baba used to remind his devotees of His presence and offered them blessings. Once Babasaheb Tarkhad, who was a ‘prarthana samaji’ earlier was a humble devotee of Sai baba. His wife and son were also surrendered in the worship of Baba and adored Him judiciously.
Once in summers Babasaheb Tarkhad suggested his wife and son to pay a visit to Shirdi for seeking Sai baba’s blessings. The son was doubtful and didn’t agree to leave Bandra as he was afraid that the worship of Baba will not be performed properly in his absence. As his father was ‘Prarthana Samaji’, it is possible that he would not be able to pay complete attention. After receiving assurance from his father, finally the mother and son went to Shirdi.
According to his promise Babasaheb got up early morning and after taking bath, he prayed to Sai baba and told him- “O Baba! I will worship you exactly the same way as my son has been worshipping you, but please do not limit it up only to bodily labour”. After worshipping Sai Baba, he offered the oblation of ‘mishri’ and then distributed the Prasad. He judiciously worshipped Sai baba for another few days but one day he found that there was no Prasad in the plate and his cook forgot to offer it.
He got perturbed and immediately bowed in front of Sai baba idol and asked his apology. He wrote the entire incident in detail to his son and requested to place the letter in the feet of Baba and ask him to forgive.
This incident happened in Bandra almost during the noon and at the same time when noon arti was going to begin in Shirdi, baba told Shrimati Tarkhad- “Mother I went to your house at Bandra to eat the Prasad but I could not find anything. So I returned hungry.” She could not comprehend the context of Baba’s words but his son understood everything. He wanted permission of Sai baba for returning to Bandra but Baba told him to worship in Shirdi for few days. The son also wrote a letter to his father to explain the incident in Shirdi and requested his father to be careful in future. Both the letters reached next day and the son and father became careful in adoring Sai baba from then.

Why we tie mango leaves on threshold of the door?
Whenever there is a celebration in the house, you will see that mango leaves are sewn on a string and are tied on the threshold of the door. Not only main door, but all the doors are well tied with the same. This not only looks beautiful but auspicious too.
As per Indian traditions and Vedic injunctions, Mango leaves are considered to be very auspicious and hence, they are used in Kalash Sthapana and other important Puja procedures. It is also used to purify the place by sprinkling water by a bunch of 5 mango leaves.
The scientific reason behind putting mango leaves are:
- Their wonderful property of warding off harmful bacteria and viruses away. Mango leaves have some aromatic compounds, which not only release wonderful aroma on being crushed or boiled in water but also, when hung in air.
- Hanging them releases various compounds which kill the pathogens away and create a nice and clean atmosphere. This positive atmosphere creates a positive effect on the mind of the individual.
- The green leaves like other plants release the useful oxygen and saves us from the harmful carbon dioxide.
- The mango leaves have been known for their unique traits even during the ancient era in the Hindu scriptures.
- Mango has been revered as the symbol of fertility. God of Love or Lord Kamdeva is also connected with mango leaves in the ancient tales.
Lord Hanuman has been known for his devotion for Lord Rama but he is also remembered for his tales of mischievous activities. One such incident was when Hanuman, also called as Aanjaneya, son of Anjana was starving and he called his mother for feeding him. When he saw no sight of his mother, he went out to search his own food.
While searching for something edible, Hanuman ji noticed the Sun and thought it to be a huge red fruit. His hunger could not control anymore and he started moving towards the red ball of Sun. His determination remained unaffected by the scorching heat of the sun. When Lord Indra saw this sight, he became anxious that Hanuman ji can get burnt. In spite of several warning by Surya devta and Indra devta, hanuman ji was adamant to eat the big juicy fruit.
When Indra ji had no option left he hit Hanuman with his weapon, Vajrayudha. Hanuman immediately fell down and was hurt. The injury made his cheeks swollen and from then on Aanjaneya was called Hanuman, as ‘Hanu’ means cheek in Sanskrit.
Vayu devta saw the injured Hanuman and immediately carried him to patalaloka, the world below the grounds of the earth. As the wind god, left the earth, there was no air in the world. People, animals and trees struggled to breathe and started to die.
Finally all the other gods had to visit Lord Vayu for consoling him. Each god conferred a special power to the little Hanuman. Brahma, the Creator said, “No weapon will be able to kill this boy.” Indra said to the boy, “You will be a Chiranjeevi’ (immortal).”
Blessed thus by the gods, Hanuman grew up to be as strong as his father.
